Retro Future Space Station
I wanted to create a retro future themed space scene. I use the modular planet blueprint project for the planet in this scene.
Scene Breakdown
I used as references art images of what old 1950-80's space stations were depicted like in science fiction.

These are the modules used to create the space station. In the retro fiction a lot of the space stations are depicted in crude squarish architecture. In others they create clean Utopian spherical structures. I blended both styles.
I Originally I textured the modules in asymmetric patters to make it look futuristic

I played with the modules composition and ended up with this design. A central Administrative dome connected to habitat domes via transit tubes. All domes have a ring with either observation apses or hangars ports
Space Station Composition
Ship
Retro science fiction spaceship designs used chromatic and very metallic colors. With smooth round curvatures.
I combined these designs with airplanes design. and this is what the final mesh looks like.

I applied metallic and chromatic colors to the ships coating. I added some scratching noise to the texture. The engines, windows and cockpit will have a emissive material applied in UE4.

Asteroids
I created 3 asteroids models that i used to popularize the asteroid field in the scene.
These are the asteroid textures maps; Color, height-roughness-mettallic and normals.

This is a shot of the final scene. As I mentioned, I used my modular planet blueprint project for the planet in the background. The asteroids were applied in UE4 as foliage.
